Basketball: Kings expect their crown

The Scottish Basketball League trophy will be presented to Edinburgh Kings at the end of tomorrow’s men’s game against Glasgow Rocks at Portobello High School (11.15am), provided that is, that Kings beat the pro club’s second team.

Even without their injured Latvian star Edgars Rekis and Scottish point guard Lee Reilly, who turned his ankle in last weekend’s home win over Boroughmuir Blaze, coach Doug Reilly is not expecting any problems from the visitors, who are second bottom with just two wins. “Lee’s ankle is not too serious, we’re resting him as a precaution,” said Reilly.

Eighth-placed Boroughmuir, meanwhile, are at home to Dunfermline Reign at the Crags tomorrow (2.20pm) and should improve their win-loss record at the expense of the lowly Fifers, who have won only one game all season.
