The 25-year-old darts player from East Calder in West Lothian made a sensational PDC World Championship debut this month.
He became the first player in professional darts to win a televised match with a nine-dart finish in the deciding leg, beating English player Bradley Brooks, in the first round. He’s the youngest ever to achieve the most difficult of tasks in the sport and only the 11th player to join the nine-dart club at the World Championships.
The achievement went viral and with this victory, Borland secured a PDC Tour Card for 2022.
Ranked 200 at the end of 2019 and 102 at the end of last year, he is now 65 in the world and on the rise. Photo: Luke Walker
