Curling: Dodds keeps up fine form

Edinburgh curler Jennifer Dodds heaved a sigh of relief last night after helping Scotland maintain their 100 per cent record at the World Junior Championships in Sochi, Russia

The defending champions won their fifth straight round robin match, but only after surviving a storming fightback from Zuzana Hajkova’s Czech team.

Lockerbie skip Hannah Fleming led 4-0 after four ends and 6-1 after six, but Hajkova counted three stones at the seventh end to turn the tide. She then picked up two more stones at the tenth to take the game to an extra end, but the Scots kept calm and nicked a single to win 8-7.

They remain the only unbeaten team along with Japan and play Norway later today.
