Brad McKay charged over Juanma ‘typical foreigner’ jibe
ST JOHNSTONE defender Brad McKay has been charged by the Scottish Football Association for making an offensive comment about Hearts striker Juanma.
McKay received a notice of complaint from the SFA compliance officer, Tony McGlennan, for his choice of words talking to media after Hearts’ opening-day 4-3 win over St Johnstone.
The SFA allege that he broke rule 73 of their disciplinary by making a “comment of an offensive nature” about Juanma. “He’s a typical foreigner, he gets touched and goes down. He was holding the back of his head and rolling about the place,” said McKay.
The centre-back has until Monday, August 24, to respond to the complaint. Should he challenge it, a hearing will take place on Thursday, September 3.
