Danny Swanson set to switch from Hearts to St Johnstone

Danny Swanson is close to completing a move to St Johnstone after agreeing to leave Hearts. The midfielder is surplus to requirements at Tynecastle and is expected to be released to join the Perth club.

Swanson joined Hearts from Coventry City in September but has made only nine appearances. He spent four months on loan at St Johnstone last season whilst out of favour at Coventry and is keen to return to McDiarmid Park.

The 29-year-old is hopeful that a deal can be concluded before the transfer window shuts at midnight. If not, he could be released by Hearts to allow him to move as a free agent outwith the window.
