Sutton unable to rescue Saints from another defeat

John Sutton endured another tough weekend with St Mirren as the Buddies crashed to a 1-0 defeat at home to Dumbarton.

The striker hit the sidenetting and the underside of the bar as the Paisley side pushed forward in search of an equaliser, after going a goal down with 63 minutes gone following an error by goalkeeper Jamie Langfield.

McGowan can’t rescue struggling Adelaide United

Dylan McGowan was in his regular defensive position for Adelaide United but couldn’t prevent the Reds losing out 2-1 at home to Central Coast Mariners.

The defender, brother of fellow ex-Jambo Ryan, has played for his hometown team in the Australian league since 2014.

Adelaide are bottom of the table after five games.
