Hibs created history at Hampden Park as they got the better of rivals Hearts in Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup semi-final.
Marink Reedijk’s era as Easter Road manager has lift-off after a stirring comeback to defeat the Jambos in Mount Florida for the first time. Martin Boyle and Jamie McGrath goals cancelled out Claudio Braga’s opener for Hearts, who suffered more injury woe, with Calvin Miller and Tomas Magnusson subbed.
Plenty of pundits have been casting their eye over this game, from key players, to what the game could mean longer-term. Hibs progress to December’s final against Rangers and here’s how pundits reacted to the latest Edinburgh derby.

"Messaged Joe Newell this morning & spoke to him tonight after the game. Man bleeds green & white and has been tremendous the last couple games. Loves the Hibs."

6. Charlie Mulgrew (Premier)
"We spoke about Boyle and Newell, the disappointment they may face with the captaincy issue. They never looked like they were downing tools or they were disappointed , they worked hard. Newell especially was brilliant, dictated the game in midfield with that extra man, and it's not just about having an extra man, it's about finding the spare man. Whenever he found the ball, he did find that spare man, and that's how they got their first goal, so, Newell, brilliant, Boyle, great goal, and the intensity of Hibs was brilliant." | Getty Images

"What a game, what a game. It's breathless stuff, it really is, it has not let up from the first minute to the last here." | SNS Group

8. Chris Sutton (606)
"A lot of happy Hibs fans. A first win for the new manager, Marink Reedijk. Beating your rivals, Hearts, at Hampden. Doesn't get any better than that." | Getty Images
