Robbie Neilson' s men moved into second in the Championship with all goals coming in the first half. Michael Smith opened the scoring early on, Andy Halliday netted from a Liam Boyce assist and Peter Haring scored his first in nearly 600 days.
The second half was a non-event with Boyce’s penalty miss following a retake the only real point of interest.

The goalkeeper was rarely worked. Dealt well with a few high balls. One loose pass out the pitch early on. Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group

Was constantly looking to get forward and offer either Roberts or Walker support. Got into a few good crossing positions. A calm finish to open the scoring. Didn’t have much to do going backwards. Photo: Mark Scates - SNS Group
3. Craig Halkett - 7
A bawling from Robbie Neilson aside for taking too long on the ball, it was a comfortable evening and played a number of positive passes forward with more responsibility on the ball. Photo: Ross Parker - SNS Group

A relatively comfortable return to league action for Hearts. Defensively didn't put a foot wrong, while in possession there were a couple of loose moment at the start of the second half. Photo: Ross Parker - SNS Group
