Hearts looked set to sign the player permanently the following summer, but having agreed terms with Genoa they found Milinkovic's wage demands to be too excessive.

The player moved to Hull but has struggled for regular playing time in England's second tier, making just 12 appearances in 18 months.

He said of his move to Canada: "This is a very good opportunity to come to this club and I look forward to start training with the team as we prepare for our season opener in just over a month. I am going to work very hard for our club and our fans."
