The black and blue stripes were a popular feature on Hearts’ away strip from the 1993/94 campaign and have been revitalised ahead of the new campaign.

Manufactured by Umbro, the third kit includes the club crest in gold trim among other features which are sure to capture the imagination of supporters.

The statement read: “As we prepare to become the largest fan-owned club in Britain, we’re proud to reveal your new third kit – inspired by a fan favourite from the past that so many of you have been asking for.

“The new Umbro third kit features the long-awaited return of the black and blue stripes in homage to the much-loved 1993/94 ‘Inter Milan-style’ away kit.

“Featuring a two-colour gold and woven crest and a bespoke ‘Jam tart’ neck sign-off, the design also pays a subtle tribute to our home, Tynecastle Park, with a tonal stadium graphic running through the black stripes.

“The stunning jersey is complemented by black shorts with a blue side panel and blue socks with a black cuff turnover and ‘HEARTS’ to the leg of the sock.

“The new third kit will go on sale at 9am this Thursday (June 10) online at heartsdirect.co.uk and in the Hearts Clubstore at Tynecastle. The Clubstore is open 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays.”

Hearts will also unveil a new home kit next month bearing the MND Scotland logo on the front.

The statement added: “We can’t wait to reveal your new home kit in early July, which will proudly carry MND Scotland on the front of the shirt, thanks to Dell Technologies.
