Dropped points at Dunfermline Athletic on Saturday afternoon means the wait for title confirmation goes on as the Tynecastle side continued to give those teams below them a sliver of hope.

Depending on results next week, Hearts may have looked to the following league fixture with Greenock Morton as the game where they could have secured a return to the Premiership.

However, the trip to Cappielow, scheduled for Saturday, April 17, will have to be rearranged for another date.

Morton’s extra-time victory over East Fife in the Scottish Cup third round means they will play their fourth round tie on that weekend later this month.

Hearts’ remaining league fixtures after Alloa and Greenock Morton are Inverness CT at Tynecastle and Raith Rovers in Kirkcaldy which is down for the final game of the league season.
