Revealed: Where Hearts and Hibs fans think the Scottish Cup semi-final should be held

The Evening News polled readers on where the Scottish Cup semi-final between Hearts and Hibs should be held

Hearts and Hibs fans voted overwhelmingly in favour of Murrayfield as the venue for the Scottish Cup semi-final between the Capital rivals.

More than 4,500 fans had their say in the Evening News poll with a surprising 75 percent preferring the home of Scottish Rugby.

The Scottish FA this morning, however, confirmed that the game would be played at Hampden Park with a 12.15pm kick-off on Saturday, 11 April.

It will mean potentially 50,000 Edinburgh football fans descending on Mount Florida for what is sure to be a spectacle.

As soon as the draw was made there was plenty of debate and discussions around the venue to host the match.

Many made the point that Murrayfield made sense due to its location, not having tens of thousands of fans travelling through to Glasgow and the fact it has a bigger capacity.

On the other hand you have the tradition of Hampden Park. It is the national football stadium and it’s the aim of all Scottish football fans when the Scottish Cup begins, ‘get to Hampden’ and enjoy the day out.
