Aberdeen 'target out-of-contract Hibs star' for summer move
Aberdeen are once again said to be snooping around a player Hibs would like to sign up for next season.
The Scottish Sun reports Stephen Glass’ side wish to bring Jackson Irvine to Pittodrie in the summer and are set to offer a deal to the out-of-contract Australian.
Irvine arrived at Easter Road in January on a short-term deal after leaving Hull City. The Australian international has impressed in green-and-white and Jack Ross is keen to get him signed up for another season.
That ambition could be made trickier with Aberdeen looking to lure the 28-year-old north. Aberdeen have a recent history of gazumping deals for players who initially appeared to be heading for Easter Road, including midfielders Funso Ojo and Ross McCrorie.
Hibs manager Ross stated last week that talks over a new deal for Irvine, who previously starred for Ross County after leaving Celtic, will wait until after the Scottish Cup final.
