Hibs braced for Warren O'Hora Leicester transfer and plan replacement as Foxes also swoop for ex-Rangers man

EFL League One club keen on Irish centre-half

Hibs are braced for the potential of a move for defender Warren O’Hora, who is attracting serious interest from south of border.

The English transfer window closes at 11pm on Tuesday night and centre-half O’Hora has emerged as a key transfer target for Leicester City.

O’Hora has been a mainstay of Hibs’ defence since joining on a free transfer from MK Dons, but the 27-year-old missed the 2-1 win over Dundee on Sunday.

Leicester are keen to bolster their squad as they aim to earn promotion for EFL League One and the Evening News understands that O’Hora is on a list of players that the Foxes are moving for on deadline day. They are set to offer Hibs a six-figure sum to bring the player to the King Power Stadium.

Unlike in Scotland, where clubs have up until 5pm on Thursday to conclude deals, the English transfer window closes at 11pm on Tuesday. Leicester are expected to be active right up until close of play.

O’Hora worked with Martin during his time as MK Dons manager and is an admirer of the centre-half, who played against his Rangers team last season during his brief time in charge at Ibrox.

Should O’Hora leave Hibs, then Easter Road chiefs would likely look for a new centre-half before Thursday evening.

O’Hora’s contract at Hibs expires next summer and he has more than 50 times for the club.

Leicester are also closing in on a move for ex-Rangers midfielder John Lundstram, who is currently at Trabzonspor in Turkey. The Englishman spent time on loan at Hull City last season.
