Hibs to face Portuguese giants as club issues schedule update

Domestic champions will provide stern test

Hibs will Portuguese giants Porto as part of their pre-season preparations.

The Easter Road side will travel to Portugal for a mini-training camp over the weekend of July 11 and will take on Porto in a closed-door match.

Porto finished top of the Primeira Liga this season and are managed by Francesco Farioli. They finished six points clear of nearest challengers Sporting CP and only lost two league matches across the 34-game term.

Hibs issued an update to supporters over the weekend advising them of their summer schedule - although it has yet to be completed in full.

Hibs will return to East Mains for pre-season training on Monday, June 22. They will know their Conference League opponents - the draw is made on Wednesday, June 17 - and they will also be aware of their Premiership schedule, with the fixture release slated for Thursday, June 18 at noon.

Hibs will then head to Ireland for a week-long training camp between June 28 and July5. They play Shamrock Rovers on Tuesday, June 30 at Tallaght Stadium with an 8pm kick-off.

As well as the match against Porto, Hibs are also playing a friendly against Danish side Brondby on Saturday, July 18 with a 1pm kick-off.

The Premiership campaign starts on the weekend of August 1/2. Hibs are likely to be in action on the Sunday due to their involvement in the Conference League.
