Former Hibs midfielder Sam Stanton has signed for Dundalk FC in the League of Ireland Premier Division.

The 26-year-old used his Easter Road contacts to hook up with James McPake’s Dundee and former Hibs boss John Hughes at Ross County for training on his return to Scotland from US side Phoenix Rising.

However he couldn’t secure a deal and the move across the water will see him team up with ex-Rangers player Nathan Oduwa – who he faced as a Hibs player in the Championship back in 2015.
