Michael Weir: Hamilton game could be a stumbling block but Hibs just need to win

Saturday’s game is a really good chance for Hibs to keep their winning run going.

They need to win it, plain and simple. We are getting to that stage in the season when it’s very much all about results.

Hamilton have shown that they are up for a fight – they looked to be in a bit of trouble but the draw with Rangers and last week's win at Motherwell shows Hibs should be wary of them.

I think Hibs should have enough about them to win the game but in my experience, at this point in the season, the teams that are fighting for their lives and want to stay in the league are difficult opponents. Every game is huge for them.

But Hibs have to treat the fixture as a big game too. There can be no room for complacency, and it could well be something of a banana skin.

It's really about how Hibs approach the game. If Hamilton sense that Hibs are a bit jittery then they could get a result.

How will postponed game affect team?

Hibs obviously had a weekend off last time out but when you're a player, you want to be playing as much as possible. If you've won your last two or three games and you're on a run then games being cancelled or postponed can sometimes disrupt the momentum because you just want to keep going, and keep the run going.

But it can also work the other way. Having that extra time off could help freshen the team up as they prepare for another big game and it could have a positive effect.

Regardless of whether it's a good performance every three points at this time of the season is vital.

Hibs have to be positive in approaching the Accies game and know that another three points will be crucial in the race for third place.

We are counting down the games now – the end of the season is in sight – and as I’ve said before, the most important thing is finding a way of winning every game.

Because right now every win, every three points the team picks up, is huge.
