Hibs loan players Greg Docherty and Stephane Omeonga have paid tribute to the club following the end of the Easter Road deals.

Both players - along with fellow loanees Marc McNulty and Jason Naismith - have returned to their parent clubs following the conclusion of the 2019-20 season.

Docherty rejoins Rangers, where he is contracted until the summer of 2022, while Omeonga moves back to Italy with Serie A outfit Genoa, where he also has two years left on his current deal.

Ibrox midfielder Docherty joined Hibs on deadline day at the end of the January transfer window and made a big impact in a short period of time, scoring three times in eight appearances and becoming a firm favourite among the Easter Road faithful.

Taking to Twitter, the 23-year-old reflected on an enjoyable spell, posting: “Thank you to everyone @HibernianFC for the opportunity and experience during my time at the club. It was a brilliant dressing room to be part of! All the best in the future.”

Beglian midfielder Omeonga returned for a second loan spell at Easter Road in January and managed 10 appearances, half as a substitute, with his only goal coming in the 5-2 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup.

The 24-year-old also stated his appreciation of the club on Twitter, posting: “As the season is over, my loan came to an end. Just wanted to thank you all for welcoming me back in such a beautiful way! I wish you all the best for the future. No matter what happens, I’ll be cheering you guys.”

Hibs praised all four loan players for their “important contribution” in a statement confirming their departure. Click here for full story.
