Volleyball: Edinburgh flying high

City of Edinburgh are basking in the glory of winning the first major honour of the Scottish volleyball season and the signs are they could dominate for years to come.

Winning the men’s John Syer Trophy for a third successive year at Wishaw last Sunday, by beating Kilmarnock Blaze, means Edinburgh have completed the first half of the season undefeated. A glance down the Scottish Junior League tables at the halfway stage also shows Edinburgh on top of the pile.

The club’s Under-19 team has won seven matches out of seven in the Scottish Under-19 League, and Edinburgh also sit top of the Under-16 national league with six wins out of six. It is a sure sign the club is in the best of health.
