Following on from their UK and European tour at the start of next year, the Irish trio will visit the iconic concert location on 17 July.

The band returned after two years this month with a new album titled Sunsets & Full Moons featuring their latest track, “Something Unreal”.

“I think it’s the most poignant record we’ve ever made,” asserts singer Danny O’Donoghue. “Our music was always about being together with the audience, and writing about your own feelings, and sharing them”.

While there is no official set-list as of yet, the group have promised fans that they’ll be treated to some new material alongside their favourite tracks from past albums.

Going by their tours from earlier in the year, hits like “Rain”, “Superheroes” and “Hall of Fame” are highly likely to be on the list for the new tour, including the Edinburgh Castle show.

The gig will be the first of a series of concerts at Edinburgh Castle next summer which are still yet to be announced.

“This promises to be a fantastic night of music and fun as once again, Edinburgh Castle is transformed into the city’s premier entertainment venue.”

The band have clocked up 30 million single sales, 10.8 million album sales and an incredible 6 billion streams since they formed in 2007.

Each of their previous five albums have attained top positions in the UK and Irish charts.

Tickets will be available to purchase from Ticketmaster from 9am on 6 December.
