THE world-famous Burryman parade turned into a bit of an “eye sore” when its hero was taken to hospital.

The age-old event sees a local man parade around South Queensferry clad from head to toe in plant burrs, sipping whisky through a straw.

This year’s Burryman, Andrew Taylor, saw one of the burrs become lodged in his eye and he had to endure four hours in A&E.

He said: “There was nothing I could do in my suit, but my eye was still irritated [so] I thought I would get it checked.”
