JK ROWLING has not given up hope of recovering her mother’s jewellery which was stolen in a break-in years ago.
The Edinburgh author was left “devastated” after her late mother’s jewellery was stolen from her home just months after her death.
The Harry Potter author said that burglars broke into her Manchester flat when she was 25, stealing the jewellery her mother had left her.
Writing for Harper’s Bazaar magazine, the 48-year-old, said that she still keeps an eye out for the “modest collection” in shops.
The Edinburgh-based author said that her childhood jewellery box was smashed by the thieves who also stole her own charm bracelet.
Rowling’s mother, Anne, died of multiple sclerosis in 1990 when she was just 45.
The author has spoken in the past of her mother’s “awful” fight with the disease.
