Hearts have added a friendly with newly-promoted Hamilton at New Douglas Park to their pre-season schedule.
The match takes place on Wednesday, July 9, with a 7.45pm kick-off and could be the Edinburgh club’s first game under new head coach Robbie Neilson.
A friendly with Dundee at Dens Park on Tuesday, July 22, is already confirmed, meaning Hearts will face both promoted teams as part of their preparations for the SPFL Championship.
Neilson took charge last month following the arrival of new owner Ann Budge and director of football Craig Levein.
He will be entrusted with the task of guiding the club back into the Scottish Premiership at the first time of asking following their relegation.
Hamilton beat Hibs on penalties in a play-off to secure their place in the Premiership, whilst Dundee won the Championship title and were promoted automatically in place of Hearts.
The Dens Park club are pursuing the signature of former Hearts midfielder Ryan Stevenson after he left Tynecastle by mutual consent last week. Manager Paul Hartley wants to make the 29-year-old his fourth summer signing but faces competition from St Mirren and Partick Thistle.
Meanwhile, former Hearts midfielder Jamie Hamill has returned to Kilmarnock on a three-year contract.
“Killie is home to a certain degree. I’m ten minutes down the road rather than an hour and a half from the training ground, which was the case at Hearts,” said the player, who lives in Irvine.
“Hopefully it can be as enjoyable as the first spell and we can get the team moving back up the league.”
