Former Hibs striker Derek Riordan has been told by Brechin boss Ray McKinnon he still has to prove his fitness to earn himself a contract with the Glebe Park club.
Riordan, 31, appeared as a trialist during City’s 2-1 defeat to Stranraer last Saturday, coming on as a substitute for the remaining 13 minutes of the League One clash.
However, McKinnon has warned the ex-Scotland internationalist he faces an arduous task if he is to prove he is worth any sort of deal.
He said: “Derek is short of match practice. Nothing more than training and playing as a trialist, which he can do for three games, has been discussed.”
