Barcelona, Juventus, Porto, Liverpool, Schalke, Feyenoord, and Hajduk Split all visited Easter Road for UEFA Cup, Fairs Cup, Cup Winners’ Cup, or friendly action.
While precious few photos survive of many of these encounters, the Evening News photographers were on hand to capture snapshots of these illustrious jousts with Europe’s elite.
How many of these matches do you remember attending?

Barcelona returned to Edinburgh for a friendly as an apology for their conduct in the previous season's Fairs Cup competition. Hibs had knocked the Catalans out of the tournament and there was plenty of unsporting behaviour from the Barca players at Easter Road. This time, they won 3-1. Photo: TSPL
