

House of the Dragon time jump: 11 cast changes and new characters in Game of Thrones prequel
This week we say goodbye to Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, who have been celebrated for their performances as young versions of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower.
House of the Dragon has leapt forward 10 years from the previous episode, with a number of major characters having their actors switched.

5. Aegon Targaryen

6. Aemond Targaryen
Aemond Targaryen, the second born son of Alicent Hightower and King Viserys, will be played by Leo Ashton and later by Ewan Mitchell. He is an formidable character who some have compared to Joffrey Baratheon. However Aemond is more of a mirror to Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith). Photo: HBO

7. Helaena Targaryen

8. Jacaerys and Lucerys Velaryon
Jacaerys and Lucerys Velaryon are the strong young sons of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Laenor Velaryon - though there are rumours Harwin Strong is their true father.
