As one of the UK’s largest family-run retailers, the company is creating 42 new jobs in the local community with its new store in Edinburgh. In total, the outlet will employ 45 team members, including some staff and management who will be transferring from local stores.

Jameel Mohammad, the new store’s manager, said: “I am looking forward to integrating our store into the community in Meadowbank and showing them our top brands at bottom prices. We want our customers to enjoy their experience and can’t wait to show them our new store.

“We’ve created over 40 job opportunities, igniting pride and progress among our fellow residents. This store goes beyond mere bricks and shelves – it symbolises a place where dreams can flourish.”

Home Bargains will also be donating £2,000 to Home-Start Edinburgh. Eliza Waye, the family charity’s chief executive, said: “We’re proud to be Edinburgh’s family charity, and our network of staff and volunteers are committed to supporting parents, carers and children across the city.

“We believe that early childhood makes the biggest impact, and our team members provide confidential and compassionate help to ensure those years count. Last year we were able to offer life-changing support to over 270 families and nearly 400 children.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Home Bargains for this donation – with their backing, we can continue to help parents and children in Edinburgh who need it the most.”
