Channel 4’s My Grandparents’ War: how to watch Keira Knightley episode

Episode three of My Grandparents’ War will delve into what 1940s Britain was like for the grandparents of  Keira Knightley.

My Grandparents’ War is back and tonight’s episode will feature the actress Keira Knightley.

The Channel 4 show sees celebrities look back at their grandparents’ stories from the wartime and in the latest episode, Keira Knightley will discover her Grandfather Mac helped save 700 Irish guards off the coast of Norway.

Knightley said: "He must have had nerves of steel. You’re listening to something coming towards you that could kill you. That’s what he had to live with!

"My grandmother didn’t find out his fate for a week The not knowing would have been so hard. But while she was reunited with her brother my grandfather was left with only a memory of his.”

“What they had to live through was extraordinary!" she added.

The show returned to Channel 4 on Thursday September 15 at 9pm.

Kit Harington discovered in My Grandparents’ War that his grandfather John was in charge of one of the most controversial spy operations of the 20th century.

John’s role was to surveil the Duke and Duchess of Windsor to make sure that the former King who had abdicated from the throne in 1935 was not secretly in league with the Nazis.

During this assignment, John met Harington’s grandmother, Lavender who was working as a codebreaker in Bermuda.

The third episode will star Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sande who rose to fame

after being a featured artist on the 2009 Chipmunk track "Diamond Rings".

She was raised in Alford, Aberdeenshire and studied at the University of Glasgow where she obtained a degree in clinical science.

The following year she was featured on "Never Be Your Woman" by the rapper Wiley, which was another top ten hit. In 2012, she received the Brit Awards’ Critics’ Choice Award
