Channel 4’s My Grandparents’ War: how to watch Keira Knightley episode

My Grandparents’ War is back and tonight’s episode will feature the actress Keira Knightley.

The Channel 4 show sees celebrities look back at their grandparents’ stories from the wartime and in the latest episode, Keira Knightley will discover her Grandfather Mac helped save 700 Irish guards off the coast of Norway.

Knightley said: "He must have had nerves of steel. You’re listening to something coming towards you that could kill you. That’s what he had to live with!

"My grandmother didn’t find out his fate for a week The not knowing would have been so hard. But while she was reunited with her brother my grandfather was left with only a memory of his.”

“What they had to live through was extraordinary!" she added.

How to watch  My Grandparents’ War

The show returned to Channel 4 on Thursday September 15 at 9pm.

The episode featuring Keira Knightley will air Thursday September 29 at 9pm.

You can catch new episodes of the four part series every week on Thursday at 9pm.

What happened in Kit Harington’s episode?

Kit Harington discovered in My Grandparents’ War that his grandfather John was in charge of one of the most controversial spy operations of the 20th century.

John’s role was to surveil the Duke and Duchess of Windsor to make sure that the former King who had abdicated from the throne in 1935 was not secretly in league with the Nazis.

During this assignment, John met Harington’s grandmother, Lavender who was working as a codebreaker in Bermuda.

Who else stars in series 2 of My Grandparents’ War?

My Grandparents’ War episode 3 - Emeli Sande

The third episode will star Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sande who rose to fame

after being a featured artist on the 2009 Chipmunk track "Diamond Rings".

She was raised in Alford, Aberdeenshire and studied at the University of Glasgow where she obtained a degree in clinical science.

The following year she was featured on "Never Be Your Woman" by the rapper Wiley, which was another top ten hit. In 2012, she received the Brit Awards’ Critics’ Choice Award

My Grandparents’ War episode 4 - Toby Jones

The actor is most known for Doctor Who, Tinker Tailor Spy, and Dad’s Army and last year, he received an OBE for his services to drama.

He was born in Hammersmith, London, and both of his parents were actors.
