Police in Edinburgh have arrested two men after a collision involving two cars and a pedestrian pushing a pram, which led to a woman being rushed to hospital.

Emergency services rushed to the two-car collision at around 11.20am on Monday (October 22) in West Port. The 30-year-old female pedestrian was taken to hospital, but the child in the pram suffered no injuries.

One of the drivers fled the scene, but was later found. Both men were arrested in connection with road traffic offences.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.20am on Monday, 23 October, 2023, we were called to a collision involving two cars and a pedestrian pushing a pram on West Port, Edinburgh.

“The pedestrian, a 30-year-old woman, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and released following treatment. The child was not hurt.

“One of the vehicles made off and the driver was later traced by officers.

“Both drivers, men aged 32 and 54, were arrested in connection with road traffic offences and released pending further enquiries, which are ongoing.”
