An “extremely dangerous” 17-year-old triple rapist who attacked his first victim when he was only 12 has been sentenced to five years detention.

The schoolboy, who cannot be named, went on to rape another two victims – the last one while he was out on bail, the High Court in Glasgow heard.

He told him: “I am deeply concerned by the risk you present to the public and in particular to young female children and women.

“You appear to be an extremely dangerous young man. You are fixated on the strangulation of females.”

The court heard that the boy began watching porn aged 11 and has a fixation with strangling women.

He throttled his last victim while he raped her in what Lord Arthurson described as ‘escalating’ behaviour.

Defence counsel Tony Lenehan said: “It is fair to say he had inadequate parenting. His understanding of the adult world came from the internet, computer games and pornography. His exposure to pornography came from 11 onwards.”

The teen committed his first rape when he was 12 and his victim 11. His second rape took place when he was 16 and his victim was 15.

He attacked his third victim, who was 13, just three months after being released on bail accused of raping his second victim.

The teenager pled guilty to raping the girls between 2015 and 2019.

He attacked his first victim in 2015 in the Craigshill area of Livingston after suggested they go into the woods, where he pushed her to the ground, undressed and raped her.

Advocate depute Lisa Gillespie said: “She found this painful and told him repeatedly to stop but he did not.”

Months later the girl told her mother and police were contacted. The teen denied anything had happened and there was insufficient evidence to proceed with a case.

The teenager then attacked and raped a 15-year-old girl near to a canal path in Linlithgow on June 28 last year.

Days later she told a friend what had happened and the friend sent a text message to the teenager.

He replied that he had lost control of himself and wished he could take back what he had done.

He appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on September 19 last year and was granted bail.

On December 20 he struck again, raping a 13-year-old girl at a flat in Bathgate.

He began choking the girl and told her he would not stop until she said she liked it. The girl repeatedly told him to stop and tried to move away but he raped her while choking her again. She was unable to speak because of the pressure and became tearful but was told not to cry.

The girl later e-mailed Childline and police traced her.

The 17-year-old was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
