Edinburgh roads: Traffic calming measures at 'boy racer' hotspot seem to be working so far
Traffic calming measures have now been installed at a notorious "boy racer" hotspot - and officials say early signs suggest it is working.
Residents from the Dalmeny Park estate in South Queensferry complained to the council's transport committee last year that they were being "terrorised" by irresponsible drivers speeding through the area in illegally noisy cars late at night.
The "boy racers" - said to include women and older men - used the otherwise quiet housing estate as a "race track" and the residents asked the council to put in traffic calming measures in a bid to stop them.

A series of measures aimed at tackling the problem were approved by the committee in March.
And now a report to net week's transport committee says work has now been completed on two raised-table traffic calming and pedestrian crossing features on Scotstoun Avenue, additional physical traffic calming features on Burdock Road, and of bollards within the Dalmeny Park estate.
Officials said they would be monitoring the situation to see how it was working and whether any amendments were required, but so far it was "looking good".
One senior official said: "We're continuing to work with Police Scotland and stakeholders in South Queensferry to try the issue of people driving inappropriately.
“Anecdotally the feedback from the community council and local residents is positive in that it has taken the edge off driver behaviour in those locations."
Transport convener Stephen Jenkinson said: "This is a good example where an issue has been identified, well articulated and the council has taken necessary steps to see what can be done to solve a problem.
"But these things don't go away overnight and they do need constantly monitored to ensure the behavioural change we've been looking for has actually happened."
At the committee in December, one resident described how groups of cars, some with noisy modified exhausts, regularly gathered near the Hawes Inn, then raced up to Dalmeny station, through the Dalmeny Park estate and down Scotstoun Avenue at speeds of up to 60mph.
He said there seemed to be about 40 cars altogether, but they would drive around in groups of up to 12. They included male and female drivers, not all of them young, and some came from as far away as Newcastle.
