Ben Supple, the wildlife conservation charity’s deputy chief executive, said: “We know that access to nature can have powerful mental and physical health and wellbeing benefits but with the current cost-of-living crisis, it’s more difficult than ever for some to access green spaces.
“That’s why the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland is making it more affordable for those on benefits to be able to access Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park, our gateways to nature. In doing so, we are taking another small step towards fulfilling our pledge to create deeper connections with nature for more than a million people and enable more than 100 communities to better protect our natural world, by 2030.”
