Bomb Squad called to Granton as a 'grapefruit-sized' suspect ordnance was found
The British Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team and the local Harbour Authority were in attendance to investigate the suspicious item
A bomb squad was called to an Edinburgh street after a suspected piece of ordnance the size of a “large grapefruit” was discovered by a member of the public.
The discovery sparked a multi-agency response at around 3.45pm on Wednesday, with Coastal Rescue Officers having been called to investigate the suspicious item in Granton.
The British Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team and the local Harbour Authority were in attendance.

Pictures show a large object covered in rust with wires protruding from its base.
The Coast Guard said the response was able to be organised quickly after the member of the public provided photographs of the object alongside an accurate what3words location.
Following examination, the EOD team confirmed the item posed no danger to the public.
However the Coast Guard said the object was convincing enough in appearance to warrant further investigation.
The incident, described as "Callout 130” by the Coast Guard, has prompted a warning over what members of the public should do if they come across a potentially dangerous or suspicious object.
People are advised not to touch or move the suspected item of ordnance but instead they should keep a safe distance and contact the emergency services, providing photographs and an accurate location if it is safe to do so.
The coastguard thanked the member of the public who reported the item for their actions which helped responders assess the situation and deploy the appropriate resources quickly.
