Back to Black with Mhairi’s Difficult Second Album - Karen Koren
It’s a busy week of shows and announcements at Gilded Balloon. Ex-MP turned comedian and our close friend Mhairi Black has just announced a tour of Scotland with her new show ‘Difficult Second Album’.
She’s bringing her highly anticipated follow-up show across the country from Inverness to Peebles in April and May next year with the full list of dates on sale at our Gilded Balloon website: gildedballoon.co.uk.

Mhairi performed her ‘Difficult Second Album’ at the Fringe with us this year for only two dates, which sold-out almost instantly and were very well received.
Her debut show ‘Politics Isn’t For Me’ toured last year after a sellout Fringe run, receiving huge critical acclaim covering her decision to leave politics for comedy as the youngest person elected to the House of Commons at just 20.
In her new show, Mhairi will discuss life outside of politics, neurodiversity, joblessness and trying to get fit at the gym. In true ADHD fashion, it's all over the place.
She’ll take audiences on a trip through the last year in her life, including everything that has happened since her triumphant comedy debut.
For those who loved her last show, those who regret missing it and everyone in between, this show is a must-see!
Mhairi will also reprise ‘Politics Isn’t For Me’ at the end of next year when her book is published.
She will be doing book signings in local book shops and also perform the live show in England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland later in 2027 and early 2028.
Also, this week we begin the November leg of the Big Comedy Roadshow with Chloe Petts, Ian Smith, Ayo Adenekan, Samira Banks, Jay Lafferty and Mark Nelson.
It’s been wonderful to watch Chloe Petts flourish on the latest season of Taskmaster (which concludes tonight), charming audiences and currently sitting top of the leader-board, she could be a winner.
They’ll be coming to Aberdeen, Dumfries, Arbroath and tomorrow night to Portobello.
And we’ve also just announced Rosie Jones as our headliner for the Big Comedy Roadshow in March coming to Stirling, Dumfries, Inverness, Dundee and Peebles.
It’s great to support live comedy and hope to see you all at these shows and also every Friday night at the Gilded Saloon.
