With the New Year of 2024 just days old, we’ve taken a look at what we can look forward to in Edinburgh this year.
There are big outdoor concerts coming to town this summer, including US pop sensation Taylor Swift at Murrayfield Stadium and the series of Edinburgh Castle concerts, including performances by Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers, ‘Modfather’ Paul Weller and ska-kings Madness.
There are of course the city’s annual festivals to enjoy also, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August, as well as the Christmas and Hogmanay events.

9. Scottish Cup glory
Could Edinburgh's football sides taste Scottish Cup glory on May 25 for the men or May 26 for the women at Hampden Park? We can but dream. You just can't beat seeing your team lift the famous old trophy in the sunshine at the national stadium in Glasgow. In the men's competition, Hibs start their Scottish Cup campaign away to Forfar on January 20, while Hearts make the short journey to Ainslie Park for an Edinburgh derby against Scottish League 2 side Spartans on the same day. 10. Hogmanay
Only a few days have passed since Pulp brought in the New Year in Edinburgh with a spectacular greatest hits set in Princes Street Gardens, and I for one can't wait to see who will headline this year's party. Lewis Capaldi perhaps? As well as the Concert in the Gardens there are so many great events in the Capital to mark the end of the year, including the world-famous street party on Princes Street and the Torchlight Procession through the Old Town.
