Some readers, however, felt the city would be an unlikely venue for a car chase in 2021.
Stuart Young commented: “Imagine trying to film that now. Plastic bollards all about the place and white lines that look like a plate of spaghetti was used as a diagram.
“Vin diesel getting overtaken by some spandex-clad eco warrior on the latest 2 wheeled piece of junk,” he added.

Hide AdCommenting on the fact that the showcased car chase seemed to play fast and loose with Edinburgh’s geography, Gillian McVittie said the continuity was “as good as it was in Trainspotting.”
For others, like Morag McIntyre, the clip brought back memories of 2019, when shooting on location in Edinburgh began.
“Saw some of this being filmed,” she wrote, “I couldn't believe how small Vin Diesel looked!”
F9: The Fast Saga is scheduled for release in UK cinemas on June 24.
