In our latest reporters’ recommendations feature, we take a look at what we think are the best places to go on a date night in Edinburgh. There are so many great places to go for a date in the Capital and we have chosen our favourites for a nice romantic night out, including a trip to the cinema, a fancy restaurant and just a good old fashioned pub crawl.
9. Pub crawl
Evening News editor Rhoda Morrison likes to visit some pubs in the city on a date night. She said: "This might not be everyone’s cup of tea for a date night but my favourite thing to do is head for a pint at a few different pubs on a Friday or Saturday night. Some of my favourites - and ones that I go to most often - are The Southsider (pictured), Dagda Bar and The Brass Monkey in Drummond Street." Photo: Google Maps
10. Tapa
Sharing food is a great idea for a date night according to Evening News content manager Joe Cawthorn, who chose this Leith tapas restaurant for a date night location. He said: "A Leith staple, and a restaurant where sharing food as the very heart of what it does. This quiet tapas restaurant is brought to life with live music and the general hum of folk having a good time. The fact it's a nice walk down to The Shore or up to Leith Walk for a bit of a pub crawl afterwards also adds to the appeal." Photo: Lisa Ferguson
