Scottish Parliament election 2021: When will each Edinburgh and Lothians constituency declare a result and when will we know whether Nicola Sturgeon has won a majority?

Liberal Democrat Liam McArthur re-elected in Orkney

    The Lib Dems have held the Orkney constituency – the first to be declared in the Holyrood elections.

MSP Liam McArthur will return to Holyrood to represent the safe seat, claiming 7,328 votes.

The SNP were in second place, with 3,369, followed by the Conservatives on 699 and Scottish Labour on 290.

In total, 11,621 votes were cast in the election, 65% of the electorate.

Scottish election 2021: Even the helicopter delivery of votes missing for Western Isles

The SNP's Jackie Dunbar has won Aberdeen Donside.

Jackie Dunbar was returned as the MSP for the constituency with an 18,514 majority.

Blackford’s delight at high voter turnout

The SNP’s Westminster leader Ian Blackford tweeted: “The news that turnout is up across Scotland is a victory for democracy and shows people are engaged in this historic election.

“I’m proud (the SNP) extended the vote to 16 & 17 year olds, refugees and foreign nationals with leave to remain – with many voting for the first time.”
