Everything you need to know about the Jambos’ trip to Ayrshire

Hearts travel to Kilmarnock this weekend in the Scottish Premiership as Wouter Vrancken’s men seek to bounce straight back from their first defeat in 10 games.

The Jambos suffered only their second domestic loss of the season against Falkirk on Tuesday night after six successive wins. In another tough fixture, the Jambos now face Killie away in their last match before the first international break of the season.

Standing in their way will be former Hearts winger and current Kilmarnock boss Neil McCann, who earned his side’s first league win of the season against Hibs at Easter Road during midweek, however they still remain bottom of the Premiership table. At a historically difficult venue, here’s everything you need to know about how to watch Hearts’ trip to Kilmarnock this weekend, which has been chosen for television broadcast:

Where and when will Kilmarnock vs Hearts take place?

What is the Hearts team news ahead of Kilmarnock?

Midfielder Tomas Magnusson missed the trip to Falkirk with a stomach issue but Vrancken is hoping he’ll be back for Killie away. Defender Oisin McEntee is touch and go for the weekend, but the club are doing everything they can to get him back from the groin issue which has sidelined him for their last two games. Zander Clark, Craig Halkett, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Eduardo Ageu, Tom Renaud, Blair Spittal and Finlay Pollock all remain out.

What have Hearts said ahead of the Kilmarnock clash?

Manager Vrancken is hoping to bring back the ‘positivity’ to Gorgie after the Falkirk stumble. He said: “We had a really good run of games so standing up on Saturday would give a bit of positivity again. The boys deserve this feeling to go into the break. But it’s not just what you want, it’s showing it on the pitch and getting it yourself. That’s what we have to do on Saturday.

“It was just a poor game from us against Falkirk, just not good enough in possession or out of possession. It’s about sticking together. We had to match their energy and we didn’t do it. It’s disappointing when you see it happening. You have one moment with a lack of concentration and then you go behind. It was too easy, not only the situation itself but the slow reaction to get back into organisation.”
