Hearts have made an official move to bring Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes to Tynecastle as they step up the search for Neil Critchley’s successor.
The 53-year old has delivered success with St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock throughout his time as a head coach in Scottish football and a big part of that has been his signings. It’s fair to say the former Rangers midfielder has a preference for UK based players which brings up the question of what that means for the current oversees players at Tynecastle and the club’s current recruitment process involving Jamestown Analytics.
Here are the 116 signings that McInnes made for Aberdeen and Kilmarnock:

61. Ryan Hedges
The Welsh winger proved to be a decent coup for McInnes who landed him on a free from Barnsley. His two seasons at Pittodrie were impressive enough to earn a move to Blackburn Rovers where he has been a first team regular ever since. | SNS Group

62. Funso Ojo
Aberdeen reportedly beat Hibs to the Belgian midfielder's signature, paying Scunthorpe United £125k for his services. His two seasons with the Dons were largely forgettable apart from an unsavoury confrontation with a Dundee United support during a match at Tannadice | SNS Group

63. Dylan McGeough
The former Celtic midfielder's quality was well know from his time at Hibs and Sunderland but so was his injury record and he was another who struggled to stay fit while at Aberdeen. He now plays for Carlisle United. | SNS Group

64. Matty Kennedy
Returned to Scotland with St Johnstone and then with Aberdeen but was in and out of the starting XI during his three years at Pittodrie. A real danger on his day and a player McInnes would sign again... | SNS Group
