How many pass marks would you hand out at the footballing equivalent of half term, then? There wouldn’t be many in this Hibs squad looking forward to parents’ evening, given their efforts over the opening 15 games of season 2026-27.
For every high, there have been at least two lows. Crashing out of Europe at the final hurdle in truly agonising fashion. Losing the derby – thanks at least in part to a red card from a player who should know better.
Despite guiding Hibs to their first semi-final since 2023, David Gray ultimately paid the price as the Easter Road board removed the manager – who had secured back-to-back European qualification by finishing third and then fifth in his first two seasons as a head coach – last week. Since then, more than one player has spoken about the collective responsibility they’ve felt over the gaffer’s sacking.
So let’s take a look at how they’ve all fared, individually, in a campaign where only one or two have impressed with anything approaching consistency.
This isn’t a rating of their ability as footballers, as such. Or even, when it comes to it, their performances when they’ve been on the field.
Consider it, instead, a numerical mark based on their contribution to the season. It doesn’t make for pretty reading.

21. CB/LB Marko Ivezic
N/A Arrived on Deadline Day. Missed the first couple of games with a 'wee virus' that was later upgraded to a 'serious virus'. No idea whether the Serbian can play or not. | SNS Group

22. CF Thibault Klidje
4/10 Scored against Ross County. A lot of fans love him. But yet to offer a convincing case - with limited opportunities, admittedly - that he's the answer to goal-scoring problems. That may change under a new gaffer. | SNS Group

23. RB Alex Williams

24. CB Rocky Bushiri
N/A Oh, how Hibs are missing the big man, who suffered a serious Achilles' tendon injury in the final game of the season. Get well soon, Rocky. Get well soon. | SNS Group
