A video seen by the Evening News - which you can watch here - shows a group of people involved in the altercation before being ejected from the city centre venue while fans around them begin to boo.

An eyewitness said that Capaldi's mum could be seen comforting a woman following the fight which forced the singer to halt the show for around five minutes before he continued to finish where he had left off.
