With one of the most exciting dates in the Scottish horse racing calendar due to take place on June 3, Musselburgh Racecourse is urging fans to buy tickets now to avoid missing out.

This year's Edinburgh Cup is set to be the biggest yet, with £135,000 up for grabs across two of the course’s most valued races of the year. Attendees will include a host of celebrities, sporting and business royalty.

The prestigious event commonly referred to as ‘Edinburgh's raceday’ is a dedicated celebration of the vibrant capital city, with attendees getting an opportunity to enjoy a day packed full of entertainment and delicious street food to indulge in from some of Scotland’s finest vendors including Pronto Pizza, Slum Dog, Dog n Bon and Well Hung and Tender.

In partnership with Edinburgh Gin, the venue will showcase eight-person gin domes and specially created drinks at bars around the course, the Edinburgh Gin tipple trailer will debut slushies alongside more traditional gin drinks and botanical-inspired cocktails.

The horses and jockeys will take to the starting gates for the first race at 1.15pm, with the final of the seven action-packed races setting off at 4.50pm.

Glitz and glam

Revellers are encouraged to dress to impress as a host of photo opportunities are located at four points around the racecourse, with prizes up for grabs for people who share their images on social media.

On top of high-quality racing, a trio of popular bands have been announced to take the excitement to the next level, with The Zebra Three, Angus Johnston and Chameleon Lady taking the main stage at the After-Race party, promising to get the crowd jumping and singing along for one hour after the last race takes place.

Easy to get to

Racegoers won’t need to worry about transport as tickets are available for a specially commissioned bus which will leave Waterloo Place in the city centre at 11.15 and return at 18.00, helping to provide a seamless and stress-free experience. Tickets for this shuttle service are selling fast so revellers should head to the Musselburgh Racecourse website to secure their £10 return ticket.

For those opting not to travel by the bus, the racecourse is only six miles away from the city centre with a variety of transport links available and courtesy buses from Wallyford and Newcraighall train stations.
