Promoted by Brad Robertson of Platinum Fight Series, the event saw Roundhouse coach Aimee Aitken and students Kris Cuthbert and Archie McLay step into the ring in K1 competition.

Chris and Archie both produced determined performances in their exhibition matches, showing great skill and courage, as they battled through 3 rounds at K1.

The highlight of the evening came when coach Aimee Aitken faced Eilidh Wood for the WKA Scotland East District Welterweight title.

Aimee wasted no time, securing victory by knockout after just 30 seconds and bringing the title back to Penicuik.

What followed was one of the most memorable moments of the night. As Aimee celebrated her victory, 15 young Roundhouse students rushed into the ring to celebrate with their coach.

The excitement and enthusiasm of the youngsters created an incredible atmosphere, with event organisers saying they had never witnessed a celebration quite like it.

The moment perfectly demonstrated the team spirit and family atmosphere that has become such an important part of Roundhouse Martial Arts.

Based at Ladywood Leisure Centre, the club is run by experienced martial artists Connor and Aimee, both of whom have competed at national and international level and Dave the boxing conditioning coach.

Despite being established relatively recently, Roundhouse students have already achieved considerable success, winning Scottish, English and Irish Kick Boxing titles.

The club is now looking forward to building on its K1 success and encouraging more people in Penicuik and Midlothian to get involved, as they prepare for an up and coming K1 World Championship and the Scottish Championship in Glasgow.

Both Connor and Aimee would like to say a special thank you to the Students, Support Staff and the best supporters that attended on Saturday and at every class during the week.

Whether you want to improve your fitness, learn martial arts or self-defence, build confidence, or simply try something new, Roundhouse welcomes beginners and experienced martial artists alike.
