Storm Boelo in Edinburgh RECAP: High winds bring second day of damage and disruption
Travel disruption is expected throughout the day on Sunday as Storm Boelo continues
Edinburgh is into its second day of severe weather, with gusts of over 60mph expected to sweep the Capital on Sunday.
Met Office forecasters have issued a 24-hour amber weather warning covering most of Scotland amid Storm Boelo.
The amber alert came into force at 9pm on Saturday night, and will run until 9pm on Sunday.
Several Edinburgh attractions have been forced to close for the day on Sunday due to the high winds, and disruption is expected on the railways and roads.
Overnight, Storm Boelo brought damage and disruption, with fallen trees and flooding blocking several A roads.
A social media post from Traffic Scotland said: “Several trees have fallen across the trunk roads in Scotland overnight due to Storm Boelo.
“Teams are working hard to deal with these incidents as quickly and effectively as possible. Check your route to avoid disruption on the roads today.”
ScotRail said speed restrictions are also expected across much of the network throughout Sunday, resulting in longer journey times, delays and possible cancellations.
