13. Massa

14. The Venue
The Venue opened as the Jailhouse on Calton Road back in the early 1980s. During its relatively short life, it served the city exceptionally well, introducing Edinburgh punters to an eclectic mix of traditional guitar-based bands and electronic acts before closing in 2006. 15. Bongo Club
The original Bongo Club was situated in a rather non-descript brick building next to New Street bus depot. Here it is pictured on 6 January 2000. It has since been demolished, but the Bongo Club lives on at 66 Cowgate. In between the years it was situated on Holyrood Road. Photo: Third Party
