Kevin Bacon, a kunekune pig, has been in the care of the Scottish SPCA at their Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre since the start of this month after his owner could no longer keep him.

With the support of the charity, the media and a plea from Hollywood star Kevin Bacon himself to find the animal a home, Kevin the pig has finally been offered a place to go.

A spokeswoman for SSPCA said routine checks need to be carried out before official moving out can take place.

A statement from the SSPCA read: “We were absolutely thrilled when Hollywood legend Kevin Bacon retweeted his swine namesake who found himself in our care!

“With Kevin's help, we were able to successfully find a home for our lovely piggy.”
