Craft beer lovers rejoice! No fewer than 11 different concoctions from the best independent breweries in Scotland will be offer when Edinburgh Street Food opens for the first time on Saturday (February 25) – and that’s just on draught. There’s plenty more in cans and bottles, too.
As reported in the Evening News last week, the news that Edinburgh’s first 7-day-a-week street food market is set to open this weekend has been greeted with excitement from foodies across the Capital.
Located on Leith Street, the new market carves out a 900m2 corner of Edinburgh’s Omni Centre and transforms it into a bold and eclectic foodie’s paradise, extending out onto the pavement with a 250+ seater urban garden.
With overhead cover, outside heaters and Carlton Hill forming a picturesque backdrop, Edinburgh Street Food will be the go-to casual dining space, whatever the weather.
Take a look through our picture gallery to discover the 11 craft beers you will find on tap at this exciting new venue.

9. Barney's Beer - Volcano
The brewery says: This Transatlantic IPA - taking the best from both British and American takes on the style - marries a biscuity malt backbone with zingy, bitter hops in perfect beery harmony. Expect flavours of sweet caramel followed by subtle floral and grassy notes from Brambling Cross and Cascade, backed up by spicy pine notes from Chinook and all ending in a satisfyingly bitter finish. 10. Barney's Beer - Stone’s Throw Lager
The brewery says: Originally brewed exclusively for the bar at our home at Summerhall, a feeble stone's throw from the brewery. Hopped with Pilgrim, Saaz and Tettnang for that crisp, refreshing bite you want from a Pilsner and lagered for longer to allow the flavours to develop - we think Stone's Throw is the perfect fridge-filler. And now we have the medal to prove it. Voted Scotland's Best pilsner at this years' Scottish Beer Awards 2022. Photo: Third Party

11. Thistly Cross Cider
The brewery says: Situated in the beautiful East Lothian coast in one of the sunniest areas of Scotland, we are focused on producing fantastic tasting ciders. Since creating our 6.2% Original Cider, our small and passionate team has developed a unique range of award-winning Core Apple and Real Fruit ciders, built on our base cider made with locally crowd sourced apples, hand pressed on site.
