If the weather is kind (and, being Scotland, that’s a relatively big ‘if’) it’ll be the perfect weekend to get out-and-about to enjoy Scotland’s stunning parks and countryside, particularly with summer just around the corner.
And Edinburgh residents are particularly lucky, with a huge variety of amazing walks on their doorstep – from city walks and pretty parks, to dramatic coastlines and rolling unspoilt hills.

11. Fife Coastal Path
Just a short drive over the Queensferry Crossing - or a train ride over the Forth Bridge - the Fife Coastal Path offers enough walks to keep you busy for numerous weekends. Running for 116 miles from Kincardine to Newburgh, just choose a section, park in the nearest town, village or car park, follow the coast on the well-marked path, and enjoy the scenery. Particularly glorious stretches include those linking the East Neuk villages of Lower Largo, Elie, St Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther and Crail. If you only want to walk one way, there's a regular bus service to take you back where you started. Photo: Canva/Getty Images
