Borders emergncy incident: Casualty airlifted to hospital by helicopter in the Borders

A person was airlifted to hospital by helicopter from the Lammermuirs last night following a major rescue operation.

The Borders Search and Rescue Unit (BSARU) were called on March 22, at around 5.30pm following a casualty reported on the Lammermuir Hills between East Lothian and the Borders.

Police Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also involved.

The casualty was airlifted to hospital by helicopter.

BSARU said: “Our thoughts are with the casualty and all involved.”

Emergency services have been contacted for comment.
